Bedford Chef charges with the killing of a Swan

A chef has appeared at Bedford magistrates Court accused of killing and taking a Swan on the river embankment.

Mohammed Miah, 29, was arrested following alleged killing of the bird which is protected by law near to the Swan Hotel in the town. Mr Miah, a local man appeared before magistrates of killing and theft of the Swan.

The case was adjourned until Thursday 27 May

    He should go to prison for this, the maximum sentence should be applied, no messing about! He obviously has no respect for wildlife or The Crown. Swans mate for life, if the swan that was killed was paired with a mate then it’s mate will be distraught and a loner for the rest of it’s life. It is very, very sad that such a beautiful creature has been killed by someone that is clearly a moron and not even of this country!
    Punish him, prison, deport him but DON NOT LET HIM OFF!!!
